Will gives her the parasol he bought for Emma after his second gift is turned down, and Eleanor sees her with it, leading her to assume that he had only intended to buy the parasol for his servant, rather than another love interest.
Teresa often runs interference for Will, making up excuses for him being busy to avoid talking to his father, though Stevens does not co-operate with such avoidance (though Stevens does write refusals for Will).
In the second season of the anime, she is drawn with brown hair instead of grey hair, making her appear a lot younger.
